Chad grew up in central NY before moving to Eugene in 2005. He has always been a sports and outdoor enthusiast and loves the Northwest’s abundance of activities like kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and golf, but his main passion is mountain biking. His friends and family would call it an addiction, but he calls it getting out outdoors and living your best life! .
In 2013, Chad completed the massage therapy program at Lane Community College. Massage therapy was suggested to him by many friends over the years and seemed the perfect way to combine his athletic passions with a sincere interest in helping others.
Chad passed the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork Exam and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapist Practical Exam in April of 2014 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Oregon. For the first few months, he worked for a local chiropractor and developed an interest in working with injury-specific clients.
In late 2014, Chad joined his partner, Natalie Hockett, and formed Transcend Healing Arts. He has since moved on to form his private practice where he continues to help his clients work toward a pain-free life. Chad combines the art of Swedish Massage, Sports/Deep Tissue Massage, and Cupping to fit the needs of each client.
Chad has experienced personal struggles with his knees over the years that left him unable to pursue some activities such as running, or other activities that cause hard compression into the knee joints. But through this, he understands from personal experience how helpful massage can be when dealing with injury and chronic pain. Working with the muscles and tissue to help elevate soreness and tight muscles to get back out on the playing field, the trails, or the slopes. Chad’s main purpose is to get you back out there and living your best life!
